Fear: How it affects you and how to overcome it

In the last few years I’ve learned that our lives are highly governed by fear (amid the other, greed, which deserves another post on its own). It’s become the main reason that prevents most people to leading a life of fulfillment and authenticity.

Sure we all have fears, but the important thing is not only to be aware of them, but also observe them. Own your fear instead of letting it own you. Accept it. Take a look and understand where this fear stems from.

I wish for you to ask yourself this question:

“What is the profit in letting my fears control me?”

Sit with this question for some time…take as long as you need to.

Below are some words and a video by Brendon Burchard on the matter of “Fear”.

“People don’t really fear change itself, they fear a negative result they believe it can bring. It’s a problem of expectation not reality. Specifically, they worry change might bring:

1. Loss of something they like or love,
2. Hardship in the process of making the change, and
3. Outcome pain (that things might not turn out better than they are now).

Here’s how to overcome those worries by mastering your mind and the way you think about fear and change: ”
